Wizki Tales
Wizki, the Stuffed Dog
Wizki was a stuffed dog, a cuddly toy filled with
kapok.
Everyone knew Wizki was a stuffed dog.
Wizkis owner, Fiona, knew Wizki was a stuffed
dog. Sometimes she talked to him as if he was alive, but really
she knew he was just a toy.
But Wizki did not know he was a stuffed dog. He thought
he was real.
He had thoughts in his head like a real dog, or, at
times, like a real boy. He did things real dogs or real boys would
do.
Sometimes he was very naughty.
For example, one time, he held water balloons out
of the bedroom window that he dropped on passers-by.
Another time, he bounced so high on the bed he banged
his head on the ceiling.
And once, he chased after pigeons that lodged on the
dormer window.
Every time Wizki had been naughty and had come a cropper,
Fiona patched him up. She thought he was splitting at the seams
or losing his fur because he was an old stuffed dog. But Wizki thought
otherwise. He thought he needed stitching up because he was the
tearaway puppy of the playground.
Wizki thought he went to school. He thought he was
in Class 4, Mrs Mertons class.
He thought he was good at games and building in the
sand pit.
He thought he had been told off for talking in school
assembly and had to stand up until Mrs Merton told him to sit down.
Poor Wizki. He so wants to be a real.
But Wizki is a stuffed dog. Everyone knows Wizki is
a stuffed dog.
Little do we know!
