" ...only to be rediscovered some years hence and acclaimed as a flawed but magnificent work of genius long after I have succumbed to a tragic, unrecognised and untimely death."

Writing Day
I took the day off and spent the day writing, which is one of my favourite uses for a day off. I had Sleepwalker to a point that it needed a dedicated period of attention to work out the gaps in the storyline. And I think I pretty much did what I set out to do today. (It's always the most frustrating thing when I have a day/week off, only to find that I don't get through the work as I would like to. Today wasn't one of those days).
It was one of those weird thngs where I knew what I wanted to happen but the characters seemed to refuse to do it, certainly they wouldn't do it within the reasons that seemed appropriate to their particular personalities. But I finally got it straight by putting two ideas together, and I'm reasonably pleased with it.
There is a line in Episode One which the main character, Clem, says, that goes something like, when a story isn't working its because it's an idea short. It needs another burst of imagination before it can take on a life of its own. So today was a sorting-out-the-storyline-and-throwing-ideas-at-it day, and it seemed to work. Before, it was a big man but it was out of shape. Today, well, it's now doing a full-time job.
